Effort and code switching

Yesterday, I’ve learned about a couple things that can be applied to potential life situations. The first thing was effort. Effort is something that can lead one to success; even more than talent and being very intelligent. It can also help with building relationships with your family and significant other. Another thing I’ve learned is using formal and informal language. In a serious/professional situation, one has to use proper grammar and reduce the amount of slang in an event or occasion. However with a non serious situation it tends to be the opposite.

It was pretty hard to make the poem to rhyme since we had to pick a significant amount of quotes that potentially don’t rhyme. After that we read some more of the story, “The Color Purple”, to end the day.

 Today in school I started off taking a benchmark. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it due to me falling asleep. After that I had a typical time in 2nd and 3rd pd. Right after 3rd pd, I had to go to the band room to prepare for the pep rally. After the pep rally I went home.

 Today in class we did more responses on the story,”The Color Purple”. For the assignment, we had to pick a quote for each letter and analyze and find the theme and the topic. We only did three of them and ended the class with watching a small section of the movie.
