 Today we worked on another type of essay. It was a narrative essay and we had to create a diary entry based on the poem we read. At first, we started on the exposition. Which consisted of the problems, characters setting and many more things. Next, we wrote the plot of our diary entry. After that we had to writ our diary entry and ended class.

 Today in class we did the same thing from yesterday. But instead, we put our ideas together and write it in an argumentative essay. We wrote the introduction, the first paragraph, and the counter claim paragraph. After that, I checked out early.

 Today we did something that can help us with the final exam for his class. We worked on the writing task for an argumentative essay. It consisted of reading the two passages first, and doing a few steps of the writing task. The first thing we had to take a position, which means to pick a side on what you want to support in your argumentative essay. The next thing we did was write debatable claims to explain why we chose this position. After that we put 5 claims on each side and after that we put evidence down for certain claims. And while we was doing the the class came to an end.

 Today in class we read our found poems. I found some of them very interesting because some rhymed. It was pretty hard to make the poem to rhyme since we had to pick a significant amount of quotes that potentially don’t rhyme. After that we read some more of the story, “The Color Purple”, to end the day.

 SICK She just sick Sicker than every body Sicker than my mama was when she die But more evil than my mama and that keep her alive Something bout it, Maybe the little tender veins I see And the big ones I try not to, I feel like something pushing me forward  I don’t watch out I’ll have hold of her hand, Tasting her fingers in my mouth  She just sick.

 I was checked out early. 

 Today we read letters 21-25 of the book,” The Color Purple”. It had a nice amount of events that happened throughout the 5 letters. One thing that I remember vividly was when Shug Avery met Celie. When they both seen each other, Celie was astonished to meet her. But Shug didn’t look pleasant and had a hangover. She also found Celie very ugly. After we finished reading, we started on one of the questions on the worksheet and ended class with that.

 We took the essay portion of the same benchmark.

 Today we finished up on the literature circles. The groups who presented did well. They had good questions as well as great illustrations. We later ended the day with the final group.

 In class there were other groups presenting their literature circles. Some were interesting and others were pretty good. One group I remember was one with the letter that pertained to the relationship of Harpo and Sophia. They had interesting questions and also great themes.

 Today, some of the groups for the literature circles had to present. Unfortunately it was my group that had to present today but it went well. I was able to finish my assignment on time and the presentation went smooth. Hopefully I got a good grade on it so my grade can go up.

 

 Today in class we did something called literature circles. We were split into groups and were given different assignments. The assignments were researching, summarizing, questionnaire, and illustrating. I switched with my partner and I traded for illustrating and gave him summarizing. After that , we ended the class with the group assignment.

 Class today was a pretty smooth day. We first did a vocabulary test and I got a good grade on it. But while everyone was trying to finish it up, a tornado drill came up. After that we continue to do a quote analysis on the same story we’ve been doing this week. The last thing we did was ending the day off by watching a small clip of the movie.

 Today in class we did more responses on the story,”The Color Purple”. For the assignment, we had to pick a quote for each letter and analyze and find the theme and the topic. We only did three of them and ended the class with watching a small section of the movie.

 Today in class we did constructed responses on the story we read this week. They were about the first 5 letters of the story and they ended up being pretty simplistic. After that we ended the school day with that.
