Fences

Today we asked questions about metaphorical and physical fences. Metaphorical fences are basically setting boundaries for yourself from other. However it can also be bad because of missed opportunities due to cutting people off from these fences and trust issues. Later on we got started on a play called fences and read for a small period of time.

Sept. 12: Cedar grove

My neighborhood tends to be very calm. Sometimes people would have parties and other times I’d hear gunshots nearby my house. Across my neighborhood there’s an abandoned house next to this citgo gas station. My mother doesn’t mind that I go outside to hoop with some friends in my drive way or coda sack. But overall, I have good neighbors and it’s a very good neighborhood.

A story with in a story

Today in class we’ve read a story called ambush. It was about a father telling his daughter a war story due to her being extremely curious about weather her dad had killed someone. In the story, he had to kill someone during the war despite he didn’t want to. But if he didn’t, he would’ve wounded up dead. This makes me realize that even when one doesn’t want to handle the responsibility, it still has to get done and it could benefit you. But if you don’t, it could result into a bad consequence or worse.

Being a former soldier of a war could affect them greatly. One effect could be hearing sounds that remind you of that event. For example, one could hear a popping sound from a balloon and could trigger many things like ptsd. Another effect is having a certain demeanor/personality. Their mannerisms could ruin a friendship or relationship with someone or a loved one.
